Responsibilities Billing Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Insurance Ageing
Contact insurance companies on outstanding claims
Look on websites to see if insurance has received claim
Claim review process
Working appeals and claim adjudication
Send Medical Records if requested
Communication with Front Desk team if denied for pre-cert or insurance incorrectly entered
Review denials and rebill if changes need to be made.
Review denials and communicate with therapists if changes are needed
Review insurance refund requests
Monitoring patient accounts
Payment posting through patient calls and mail
Work patient ageing
Review accounts for collection process
Start the refund process for patients that have overpaid their accounts
Print HCFA and notes for all work comp claims
Maintains strict confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices
Exemplary customer service skills
Identifies and resolves patient billing complaint

- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the computer functions, email, Microsoft office products. On the job training will be provided for billing software and documentation system.
