Walter | Haverfield LLP, a mid-size law firm who continues to be ranked among the best Cleveland law firms is seeking an Experienced Tax and Estate Planning Legal Secretary for our Cleveland office. Candidate will share the support to one partner, two associates and three paralegals in our Tax and Wealth Management department with all facets of their practice, as well as provide a lead role assisting with the overall work flow with the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare initial drafts of estate planning and other documents;
  • Transcription, drafting, editing and finalizing correspondence and other documents;
  • Manage administrative tasks for multiple attorneys (requesting conflict checks, setting up files, submitting expenses, billing, processing mail, scanning, organizing files, etc.);
  • Manage multiple calendars;
  • Manage speaking engagements (scheduling, editing presentations)
  • Professional communication and follow up with clients, counsel and third parties
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of tax/estate planning legal secretary experience in a law firm setting;
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Worldox and experience with time entry software such as SurePoint;
  • Must have superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must possess superior proofreading skills, accuracy and demonstrate attention to detail;
  • Must have strong organizational, prioritizing and time management skills;
  • Must be self-disciplined and proactive by identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency;
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast changing environment;
  • Must be confidential and demonstrate sound judgment;
  • Must possess professional integrity; and
  • Project a professional image and have a friendly demeanor.
Education and Experience
  • High School or equivalent (required)
  • Paralegal experience a plus
  • Notary Public a plus
Schedule:
  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
