Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and manage the day-to-day human resource activities for our Corning manufacturing facility. The HR Director provides leadership to and serves as a consultant on all Human Resource related issues and must be well versed in labor relations, talent acquisition, learning and talent development, organizational effectiveness, change management, compensation and benefits administration, worker’s compensation, leave management, employee relations, employment law and internal communications. The HR Director will report to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, and matrix to the facility’s Operations Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with site leaders in the development of strategic programs designed to promote and support organizational effectiveness
  • Develop progressive staffing and retention strategies and oversee the employee experience life cycle
  • Provide guidance and support to leadership across all HR disciplines, including employee and labor relations
  • Manage the administration of performance management, merit, talent development and succession planning process
  • Oversee labor relations activities including the preparation, negotiation, administration, adherence, and resolution of the collective bargaining agreement matters
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and the Workers Compensation process
  • Operate at a high level to apply, monitor, and enforce employment laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Responsible for providing direction on laws that impact the company such as EEO, Worker’s Compensation, FSLA, OSHA, OWBPA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and other federal, state, or local regulations.
Qualification
  • BA/BS in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • 10 or more years progressive HR experience
  • 5 years supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing/distribution setting in a fast paced, high speed, high volume, customer-focused environment
  • Familiarity with HRIS databases and experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook as well as excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, to get along with others, and to build and maintain positive, productive, influential working relationships with all levels of employees
  • Ability to positively, productively, and comfortably handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with focused attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability in handling highly sensitive and confidential matters effectively and discreetly
  • Ability to drive and influence positive results in all the areas of HR
