About the Opportunity:
- The largest secretariat in the commonwealth located in Boston, MA in need of an experienced Legal Office Assistant to their growing team
- They are responsible for the Medicaid program, child welfare, public health, disabilities, veterans’ affairs, and elder affairs
- The office is flexible so employees can work any 3 days during the workweek (M-F)
- You will perform all legal work related to collection activities such as conducting legal research, organizing and presenting information, drafting documents, etc
Legal Office Assistant Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, and codes
- Filing pleadings with the court clerk
- Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records
- Directing and coordinating law office activity
Legal Office Assistant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree
- 2+ years of experience in legal research or legal assistant work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
