A fast-growing, boutique investment banking advisory firm in New York City is searching for a Power Market Analyst to join its renewable energy investment banking team. This position initially will focus on analyzing long-term power fundamentals and translating this information for investment banking deals. The position will develop into an investment banker role over time. Power Market Analyst responsibilities include:
Analyzing long-term supply and demand models and capacity market models across multiple power markets that are provided by third-party consultants,
Reviewing power markets regulatory policies,
Assisting investment banking team to create materials for client presentations, and
Managing consultants and internal key stakeholders throughout the deal process.
Once trained, the Power Market Analyst will join the Investment Banking team and responsibilities will include:
Analyzing financial models used in client proposals and strategic plans,
Evaluating financial performance compared to industry trends,
Participating in client transactions projects,
Preparing and delivering presentations for prospective clients and key internal stakeholders,
Maintaining client relationships,
Developing M&A, debt, and equity expertise.
Educational and professional requirements include a bachelor's degree in Finance or related field; 1-5 years' experience in investment banking or fundamental research (power or renewables experience preferred); strong communication skills; and excellent analytical and modeling skills.
