We are seeking an exceptional Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist in South Florida who is interested in leading innovative and challenging projects involving environmental due diligence and environmental regulatory compliance for a diverse client base that includes a mix of commercial/industrial, institutional and legal sector clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is a senior leadership role involving project, client, staff, and business development responsibilities, including:

  • Directing, managing and implementing challenging technical projects involving: environmental due diligence (individual and programmatic projects); environmental regulatory compliance (multimedia auditing, facility program development, corrective action, and permitting support); brownfield redevelopments; and site investigation and remediation;
  • Cultivating relationships with new and existing clients, resulting in the expansion of the Firm s current practices and capabilities through new business opportunities;
  • Maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events; and
  • Supervising and mentoring early career professionals;

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 20%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, or applicable science program. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering or science. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. or P.G.). (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 8 years (15+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience in the Florida marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance projects (required).
  • Detailed Federal and Florida regulatory knowledge, especially Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Experience implementing assessment and remediation projects and programs under Chapter 62-780 FAC (preferred)
  • Experience in effective management of projects, including responsibility for resource allocation, quality, technical oversight, and financial management. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and managing clients. (preferred)
  • Experience mentoring and managing professional staff. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
